GRANELL Hydraulic Engineers carries out continuous research during the development of the projects it takes part in.

In addition, our company is involved as a coordinator in several research projects, among which we can mention:

• Research in the area of special spillways and hydrologic safety: Project IPT-2012-0185-380000: Design of a reusable fusegate with a polyhedral bottom to improve dam safety (POLILAB), financed by public grants given for the year 2012 by “Programa Nacional de Cooperación Público – Privada – Subprograma Innpacto”, of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, which has a fundable budget of 1.050.727,06 €. The project has been concluded.
• Research in the area of structural safety in concrete dams: RTC-2018-3794-5: ACOMBO. The development of a calculus program for a complex thermal-stress-strain analysis of double curvature arch dams, for “RETOS-COLABORACIÓN 2015”, of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, which has a fundable budget of 778.595,80 €. The project is near conclusion.

At present we are working on the following project:

• Research in the area of special spillways and hydrologic safety: Project RTC-2017-6417-5: Industrial design of a reusable fusegate to improve hydrologic dam safety (COFRE). It is financed by the public grants given by “Retos – Colaboración 2017” of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities,  which has a fundable budget of 834.641,65 €.
